This is a pre-1914 photograph from E. A. Brown's collection. It shows several street hawkers set up stall along a road, in front of a row shophouses. The street hawker (in the foreground) is barefoot and seated behind a round rattan ‘table’ with his wares, which appears to be a set of chessmen. Other street hawkers and a man eating can also be seen in the middle ground. No date of creation provided. Title devised by Library staff. Information contributed by Richard Hale.
