Information About
This is a pre-1914 photograph from E. A. Brown's collection. It shows a bare-chested boatman rowing a sampan ferrying an European family towards a swimming “pagar” on the coast at Tanjong Katong. The wife and daughter are seated in the middle of the sampan, using a parasol. The other members of the family are seated in the bows of the sampan. No date of creation provided.
