This is a photograph from E. A. Brown’s collection. It was taken during the opening ceremony of the Singapore Naval Base's floating dock on 14 August 1929. The photograph shows H.M.S. Herald apparently under way in the Johore Straits near the floating dock. A survey ship, she served as guard-ship for the inauguration. Date of creation estimated. Title devised by Library staff.
