Repository Used Materials

Repository Used Reference Materials include items which are the last copies of titles in our collection, out-of-print titles, materials with research value or historical value and titles which are used less frequently but which are still relevant to Singapore, Southeast Asia and Asia.

Reservation of Repository Used Reference Materials

• Repository Used Reference (RUR) materials are marked in the catalogue with the status 'RUR'. 
• RUR materials are not housed within the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library as they comprise older editions and less frequently used titles from our collections.
• You may place a reservation for RUR material to be retrieved for your consultation at the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library.

Important 

• Consultation of the materials is restricted to within the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library reading room and for a period of 21 days only.
• The materials cannot be taken out of the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library.
• The materials must be returned at the counter before the library closes each day.
• Reservation fee applies (see Fees and Charges).

How to Request for RUR Materials 

Place your reservation online via the National Library Board Catalogue at http://catalogue.nlb.gov.sg. Please ensure your contact details in your library account are updated. 

How to Collect Your Requested RUR Materials 

• You will be notified via SMS/e-mail once the materials are ready.
• You will need to produce the SMS/e-mail and photo ID to collect your materials.
• Payment of the reservation fee must be made upon collection.

Customers can pay online for all library transactions via PayPal/debit/credit card or PayNow QR by logging into your National Library Board library account.

Online payment on NLB Mobile app is available via PayPal/debit/credit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

You can also use the borrowing stations at all public libraries to pay for transactions via CashCard or EZ-Link card.
