  • Navigating the Journey of Young Women with Breast Cancer
Learning Playlist: Navigating the Journey of Young Women with Breast Cancer*

Breast cancer is considered to be the most common cancer that happens to women in Singapore1. Some of us may think that breast cancer only occurs among older women, but this is not true. It is possible for young women to be diagnosed with breast cancer as well. In fact, there is a higher proportion of aggressive subtypes of breast cancer which may be diagnosed at later stages in younger women.

According to an article2 by Rogel Cancer Center, a study found that half of the surveyed female participants with early-stage breast cancer involved at least three people in their decision-making on cancer treatment.

If a young woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, she may feel overwhelmed by certain concerns that are unique to those who are diagnosed at a young age. As a result, she may require a strong support system to navigate this journey with her.
