Ang Mo Kio

From its humble beginnings as a rubber plantation and kampong, Ang Mo Kio emerged as Singapore’s first town to be designed and developed entirely by the Housing & Development Board in the 1970s. Its distinctive town garden and unique fan-shaped precinct layout marked a new era in public housing design. The area’s rich community life is observed across various points of interest: the historic dragon kiln at Lorong Chuan where traditional pottery was once fired, the iconic dragon playground that is one of Singapore’s few remaining vintage playgrounds, and the vibrant Kebun Baru Bird Singing Club where owners gather with their prized songbirds.
