This photograph shows a close-up of one of the participants of the 3rd ASEAN Merbok Singing Competition. He is seen standing behind a white van at an open carpark carrying two birdcages hanging on each end of a pole. One of the birdcages has a blue cover and the other is covered in green. On the ground in front of him are two more birdcages. A few other parked vehicles can be seen in the carpark. The competition, organised by Ang Mo Kio Bird Club, was held on 12 August 2001.
