This 1982 photograph shows a view of Neil Road, from the New Bridge Road and Kampong Bahru Road junction. It gives a sweeping view of the gently sloping street, with the row of terrace or shophouses in the background. The row of two-storey terrace houses are interspersed with some three-storey shophouses. The terrace houses are separated by a dividing wall and each unit has its own front porch. Neil Road is named after Colonel Neil of the Madras Fusiliers, of the Indian Mutiny of 1857. Title devised by Library staff.
