Recipient of the S.E.A Write Award in 2006, Singapore’s Cultural Medallion in 2007 and the AnugerahTun Seri Lanang (Singapore’s highest Malay literary award) in 2009, Isa Kamari is the author of seven novels in Malay including AtasNamaCinta, SatuBumi and Tawassul which have been translated into English. Isa has gained critical acclaim for many of his works, which also include a collection of short stories, two collections of poems and collection of theatre scripts. At present a manager with the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, Isa is also a musician and lyricist.
