Freelancers and Aspiring Entrepreneurs Can Tap NLB’s New Launch Service Offering Masterclasses, “Pitch Events” and Mentorship

For microbusinesses with big plans, Punggol Regional Library could just be the spot to head to. Located on Level 4 of the newest public library in Singapore, Launch, a new service NLB is offering together with its partners, aims to give freelancers and aspiring entrepreneurs a boost in their entrepreneurship journey.

In line with the national Forward Singapore movement under the Equip pillar, Launch will help aspiring entrepreneurs gain better access to a suite of resources, including business information and literacy training, workshops for entry-level upskilling, masterclasses, and even pitch events for networking opportunities.

Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information, Mr Tan Kiat How, met with about 20 freelancers and self-employed persons today, for a sneak preview of Launch. Participants, from various sectors like the performing arts, fitness, and food and beverage, welcomed the new service. They said that as a shared space, Launch would be important in facilitating networking and upskilling among independent entrepreneurs. They hoped that Launch would help them connect with mentors and experts, to build a vibrant and close community of knowledge-sharing and support. Some of the more experienced participants were also keen to come on board to help guide fellow entrepreneurs who are just starting on their business journey.

NLB will consider the feedback and ideas shared, as part of its ongoing partnership with the community to shape the features at Punggol Regional Library. This is also in line with NLB’s ongoing efforts under its LAB25 (Libraries and Archives Blueprint 2025) goal to reimagine and bring more learning and discovery opportunities to all, in close collaboration with the community.
