Programme Synopsis
A dialogue between chefs, covering their research and writing experiences while on the road. They will share their journeys of self-discovery, inspirations and lessons learnt. Does wanderlust inspire or distract their writing? What challenges do they face? Their recommended reading lists and research sources will be discussed.Join us to learn about their gastro travel writing experiences.

This session is suitable for chef inspired types, food and travel writers, home cooks and all curious creatures!

About the Speakers
Jeremy Nguee, Chef consultant and Chef-owner of Preparazzi and Batu Lesung Spice Company

Culinary artist and food innovator, Jeremy is a keen evangelist of modern Singaporean cuisine. As an industry practitioner, his inventive approach to Asian cuisine has taken him globally from St. Petersburg, Russia to Jakarta, Indonesia. He is the chef-owner of award-winning gourmet caterer Preparazzi, creator of Batu Lesung Spice Company and co-founder of MRS KUEH.

Dean Brettschneider- Baker Boy and CEO of Baker & Cook

Arguably one of the world’s best bakers with an international following, Dean is truly a global baker, he now resides in Singapore where he heads up his global baking empire. He travels regularly to all corners of the globe where he is a consultant to the Global F&B and Baking Industry.

Dean is the founder and co-owner of the global bakery chain Baker & Cook, Plank Sourdough Pizza, Mo & Jo Sourdough Burgers and Brettschneider’s Baking & Cooking School. He also is a co-owner of London based Crosstown Doughnuts.
Dean is the author of 13 award-winning books on baking, and he appears as co-host and lead judge of the successful reality TV series, The Great Kiwi Bake-Off and New Zealand’s Hottest Home Baker. He also hosts the Kiwi Baker series in Shanghai, France, Singapore & California, as well as many other TV programmes that promote baking excellence, travel, food and culture.

Devagi Sanmugam - Entrepreneur, Chef and Food Writer
Chef Devagi Sanmugam, also known as ‘Spice Queen’ is an accomplished authority on Asian food scene. With 23 cook books under her belt, she is constantly involved in conducting culinary workshops and cooking classes, developing and testing original recipes and formulas for food companies, hotels and restaurants all over the world.

Zander Ng – Chef & Author
Tech Alliance Manager-turned-Chef, Zander Ng is the winner of MasterChef Singapore 2018. Zander’s love and passion for all food sees him draw inspiration from his travels throughout Asia and abroad. Aside from culinary internships with Folklore and Artichoke, he collaborates with eateries on pop-up menus and bespoke private dining events. His first publication via Marshall Cavendish is soon to launch in 2019.
