About the Programme

Since its founding in 2024, the ING Guitar Ensemble, directed by Mr Eric Goh, has been dedicated to promoting ensemble guitar playing and fostering collaboration among musicians from diverse communities.

In their second annual concert, Musical Postcards from Around the World—part of their two-day guitar festival—ING Guitar Ensemble is joined by guest artists and groups including Duo YE, Guitar Quartet Seis, Kim Guitar Music, and Restring Guitar Ensemble for a vibrant afternoon of guitar music.

The programme features solo, duo, and ensemble performances drawn from composers across the world, celebrating the expressive possibilities of the guitar and the spirit of musical friendship.

Classical Guitar Meets Poetry and Visceral Art

ING Guitar Ensemble will be joined by Visceral Reality artist Benedict Yu and poet Jennifer Leong (also known as Soy Avocado), for a special item during the concert.

Benedict Yu is an XR Visceral Reality artist. He will create an improvised live 3D painting in mixed reality during the concert, his gestures tracing the air as his visions appear as dynamic brushstrokes on the concert’s backdrop. Guided by the resonances of sound and sight, he will drift through fragments of postcards, travel books, poetry, and music, translating their emotions and memories into strokes of virtual ink. Each brushstroke becomes a dialogue between memory, movement, and the rhythm of the moment.

Jennifer Leong (aka Soy Avocado) started writing poetry in 2021 to raise funds for charity. She created the 'DuaTresPentaStep' poetry form, which she attributes to divine inspiration. Her poems "Hills", written in this innovative style, earned her the Spirit of the Festival Award at the 2022 Frances Browne Literary Festival Multilingual Poetry Competition in Ireland. Her poem 'Orlando in Florida' was nominated for the 2025 Pushcart prize. Jennifer loves collaborations, including across different art genres. Her spoken and written word has also surfaced in Singapore and overseas. She believes there is a poet in each of us and has been facilitating workshops to encourage more people to engage in poetry writing.
