About the Programme
Singing is an activity that brings joy and many health-giving benefits to everyone. It is especially therapeutic for older persons to sing together.
Participants will sing karaoke style, using basic skills in chorale and unison singing. Our repertoire will comprise English songs across different genres, including folk, pop, jazz, country and musical theatre. Oldies, evergreens and popular songs will be sung.
No prior experience in singing is required. Join us for a fun and relaxing time, while picking up basic singing skills!
About the Facilitator
The Queentessentials is led by Florence Phuah, a seasoned solo and choir singer and performer who also leads two other singing interest groups. She is involved in other community singing groups and also sings at elderly care homes and Active Ageing Centres.
About LearnX Communities
The Queentessentials is one of NLB’s many LearnX Communities that connect like-minded people to create a modern kampong of communal learning. These communities cover a wide range of topics and can be found in libraries all over the island.
