I remember Thye Hong Biscuit Factory then stood on the corner of Alexandra Road and Tiong Bahru Road. There were food stalls at the side corridor of the building next to Tiong Bahru Road. My girlfriend (now my wife) stayed opposite at Blk 139 Tiong Bahru Road. Her block of 3-room flats have been torn down and replaced by a brand new condominium! Collected at the “iremember goes to Bukit Merah”, the 5th instalment of a series of outreach initiatives to the heartlands island-wide by the Singapore Memory Project (SMP). The memory collection drive was held in conjunction with the Bukit Merah Public Library (BMPL) 30th anniversary celebrations from 29 November 2012 to 1 December 2012.
