I was assigned to scorpion company,BMTC School 2, upon my enlistment. Like every BMTC Company, there are many legends and myths about the company and it buildings. The most memorable for me were the stories (which I myself saw firsthand) about its legendary commanding officer whom we all jokingly referred to as the Scorpion King - an old soldier said to be nearing retirement. We were all "stung" at some point in time during training by his "acid" - he was very good at sarcasm. But we all took it well and respected him for it. I'll never forget one of the last images my recuit batch took with him. Our short OC on the shoulders of the tallest of our batch, beaming and full of loud witty barbs, when we won the inter-company tug-of-war challenge.
