In 1980s. In my younger days, taking a transport from one area to another was rather cheap compare to now. Starting with a fare from $0.20 cents to $10.00. We can travel from one end of Singapore to another end of this island. Most area were covered with forest plant and shopping was quite inconvenience as we have to travel to CBD to find any big shopping mall. People in the olden days were more friendly especially if there was any function, the whole HDB people will got to know about it and they will helped out each other in preparation to the event. Nowadays, people tend to shut themselves out behind those wooden door.
