The following memory is part of a collection from the Ministry of Education (MOE) on various schools’ submissions regarding the National Education (NE) core events (i.e. Total Defence Day/International Friendship Day/Racial Harmony Day/National Day) as part of the ‘iremembermySchoolDays’ campaign. Contributed by Ms Zarina Abdul Karim, Allied Educator (Teaching and Learning), Eunos Primary School. I genuinely feel that this year’s Racial Harmony Day celebration was a special one. Firstly, all Eunosians were very fortunate to be able to view the excerpt from our musical, Colours in Flight. They enjoyed it very much and the performances portrayed amazingly high Eunosian spirit! Secondly, we launched our very own Innovation Room called Inno-Fusion. Students from different racial groups can now, bond through learning about food from various cultures and the sharing of cooking practices. We are indeed moving towards student-centric, values driven education! Thirdly, it was my first attempt as an emcee and I received bouquet of praises from colleagues as well as the students.
