Information About

Ng Lee Gek Art Exhibition, “Believing is Seeing” 16 Dec 1977 National Museum Art Gallery organised by the Singapore Art & Crafts Education Society in RTS News my first public solo art exhibition of 200 works in oils, acrylics, collage, prints and clay, entitled “Believing is Seeing” before I left for study in USA. Dr. E N Poulson, Principal of Singapore Bible College opened the art exhibition and I remember that together we were featured in the RTS news coverage the next day! If only I could retrieve this little news in the RTS news archives! This was beyond my dreams...looking back ...as a young Singapore artist in the 1970s, when the art scene was not as vibrant as now, it was incredible numerous people who came and visited the show but I don’t even have a photograph of my show and if only the people who saw my show read this little artist story, would contact me at or my workplace, Commonwealth Secondary School. It was 36 years ago. Thanks 50 yrs MediaCorp! (Collected from "My Story" - a MediaCorp initiative to collect Singaporeans' memories of the broadcast media and related experiences as part of national heritage in collaboration with the Singapore Memory Project.)
