These old notes and coin were collector's items for my parents. The hobby of collecting old notes started with my mom. The hobby started when she first saw the $1 note. She felt that the bird on the note was very elegant and beautiful, hence starting the collection of $1 notes. At first she only collected $1 notes but eventually, she went on to collect the $5, $10, and the $50 notes regardless of whether it was in the (bird series). As you can see at the bottom right corner of the picture is a old coin of Singapore. It is a 50 cent coin. However, this time, the hobby of collecting coins started with my dad. Similar to my mom, he only started collecting the coins when he first saw them. Another similarity is that they both only started collecting one kind of the notes or coins before moving on to collect more kinds of them. For my father, he started collecting the 50 cent coins before moving on to other coins like the 10 cent and 20 cent ones. (If you are wondering why there is no 20 cent or 10 cent coins in the picture, it is because I had no more room for them.) After they met each other, they combined their collection and continued collecting more. Till this day, they still collect the old and current notes and coins, always adding to their collection.
