Mr Rosli reminisce his gaming devices back in the 70s to be made up of ‘gulis’ (marbles), 5 stones and a chapteh. Many kids would gather at their usual ‘gathering spot’ playing under the sun for hours after school – usually involving in a game involving the mentioned ‘gaming devices.’ Now, when people talk about ‘gaming devices’, the words “PS4” or “Wii” would naturally arise. Physical ‘gaming devices’ have evolved to screens and controllers. Playing under the sun for kids have turned into being sheltered with an iPad game in hand. Objects like gulis, 5 stones and chaptehs are now only frequently seen in memorabilia shops, signifying the phasing out of these play tools. Mr Rosli hopes to see more and more kids taking the time to play outside.
