Information About

These notes were collector's items by my parents. The habit started when my mother first saw the $1 note. She thought of a way to preserve it and hence came up with the idea of collecting them. Soon after, my dad was influenced by the habit too. They started with collecting $1 notes before moving on to collecting $5, $10, and $50 notes. Soon after they started collecting coins too. However this time, the idea came from my dad. The old 50 cents coin (which can be seen at the bottom right of the picture) was the first coin my dad ever collected. These notes remind us of the old Singapore and how drastically it has changed since gaining independence in 1965. Singapore is constantly evolving and redeveloping to give its citizens a better environment. Singapore has come a long way since 1965, rising from a third-world country to a first-world country. It has rised from the ashes to become a country well known to many people. Hence, I am very proud to call myself a Singaporean.
