Having grew up in the 80s-90s era, I never knew what Orchard Road was. To me, Bt Merah Central was my Orchard Road. It has a library, cinema, kfc, mcdonald, pizza hut, a&w and an Emporium. My sister bring me there at least 2x a year, usually after exams. KfC had those auto hand basin where you placed your hand and the soap and water dispense on its own. Very advance for that time.. this is a memory that I want everyone to be able to reflect back and say yes, they do remember the time when bt merah was also a hdb hub.
