Back in 2008/2009, we celebrated Hari Raya by having a mini class party. The tutors brought food and drinks for the students. We also watched a video in class. We let the students unwind before we asked them what they think they should do to prepare for their exams. We also asked how we can help them further. Surprisingly, when they were in a relaxed environment, they were more open. As a tutor, I enjoyed reading the students' reflection journals. I can understand what happened to them better outside of class. One student in particular related his experience as a student leader and how his friends treated him badly because of his appointed position. I advised him what to do and up till now, he is a faithful student on my Facebook. Another student wrote how he was nearly strike by lightning while playing soccer. So ever since then, I bonded with him by asking more about Manchester United, EPL and etc. (Memory collected through MENDAKI Homework Cards 2012)
