Being involved in a drama production for Katong Convent was fun. Besides having the chance to perform in Victoria Theatre no less, there were ample opportunities for junior students to hob nob with senior students. Another was also the chance to explore Victoria Theatre, before the curtains came up and we were about to act. Notions of secret passages, labyrinths and mysterious figures fascinated our teenage minds. Fear and excitement filled our pounding hearts. We looked forward to the prospect of exploring Victoria Theatre! Quietly the seniors led the exploration. We saw disused dressing and equipment rooms and crawled through corners overhanging with pipes and air-conditioning vents. The hush-hush and rather tense exploration was cut-short when someone let out a shriek. This was enough to send all the girls fleeing in utter panic in all directions! What a sight that must have been! “Memories collected from the School Reunion Contest held from 15 July to 9 Aug 2012 in collaboration with SPH and sponsored by Singapore Flyer.”
