The merlion is one of the most recognised symbol for the tourists who visit Singapore. Statue formally located at Merlion Park, was mobed to the opposite of Fullerton Hotel in April 2002. The Merlion was first designed as a symbol of Singapore Tourist Promotion Board (STPB) in 1964 and the lion head with a fish body resting on top of these waves quickly became an icon of Singapore to the world.
