My 1st visit to National Library was in 1985 while I was in primary 5. It was an exciting experience as I went to the library with my 4 best friends, to the biggest library in Singapore, then the Stamford Library. We would spend our Saturdays reading and selecting books to borrow. We were competing to see who would read the most books and learn the most new words each week amongst ourselves. More than 25 years, the library has improved by leaps and bounds. The borrowing process is now so much easier and we can borrow more books than the mere 4 books then. I really appreciate our National Library, as it is here that I learnt to love reading and it has grown with time, just as I did.
