Immunisation was the most dreaded time for the girls. The fear of the needle sent girls crying and even screaming. One of my classmates was so petrified that she ran screaming round the school hall. Some teacher and nurses and even some of us joined in the chase. Eventually, the poor girl was caught and dragged to the doctor. Pinned down, she could not move and was given the jab. She howled in pain but after the injection, she stopped crying. It was then she realised that the injection wasn't so painful after all.
