World War I Although I was not born during the war but I remember my grandma used to tell me about the world war and she used to bring us to fort canning museum to show us the things that happen during world war. I still remember that the World War I (WWI) was a global war centered in Europe that began on 28 July 1914 and lasted until 11 November 1918. It was predominantly called the world war or the Great War until its end, and the First World War or World War a thereafter. It involved all the world’s great powers, which were assembled in two opposing alliances. These alliances were both reorganized and expanded as more nations entered the war: Italy, Japan and United Stated joined the Allies, and the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria the central powers. More the 9 million combatants were killed, largely because of technological advancements that led to enormous increases in the lethality of weapons without corresponding improvements in protection or mobility, causing both sides to resort to large – scale human wave attacks, which proved extremely costly in terms of casualties. It was the fifth – deadliest conflict in world history. Fashion In the 70s to 80s century I remember that the fashion back then was very trendy and even the police man are also wearing fashionable shorts during that time. I really love the fashion back then, its full of pattern, interesting design and also bright colors. Even now in the year 2013 the fashion of the 70s to 80s is still very trendy. People wear the retro fashion everywhere they go and also as for the guys they have those funky afro hairstyle on where ever they go and as for the clothes it goes by different races an different style Wayang Film I used to remember that there is this famous black and white film created by this guy called wayang his film is very famous. The color of black and white is also very trendy back now and last time. I remember that everything was in black and white even the newspaper, magazine and lots more. Food I remember when I was young my grandma used to bring me to an famous old coffee shop in the town. Whenever I ordered laksa my grandma tell me a story about her when she was young, her parents used to open a laksa store and she love the laksa that her mother cook, it was just so delicious and whenever she starts her story her tears start rolling down her cheek.
