Growing up in an estate along Toh Tuck Road in Bukit Timah, I used to look out of my window a lot as a kid, out to the lush greenery of the forest that our estate faces. Often, there would be people going through the gates to get durians from the forest. It was fascinating scene to see families doing it together. An interesting event that happened was when a hoard of at least 50 monkeys came out to our estate. They were all over, some climbing trees and swimming, in the pool too.
