Not many Singaporeans grew up in village but I'm one of those who did. I spent my childhood in Punggol Lorong Cheng Lim till I'm 16 yrs old. We had a big chicken farm, and collecting eggs and selling old grandmother chickens is our childhood play and hobby. It earns us a living. Life was not easy then but I miss and love my Punggol life always. And of course the durian which drops in the middle of the night and we would rush to pick them up in the darkness.
