There was one National Day, in 2008, around the time the game show Don't Forget the Lyrics became popular. For the National Day celebrations in school they had prepared to play Don't Forget the Lyrics: National Day Edition where we would compete with other Houses and sing past National Day songs and try to remember the missing lyrics. The game ran as usual until our favourite songs started coming on. We were supposed to sing the songs until the blanks and let the contestants on stage guess the lyrics but they then the entire school would continue the songs long after the music stopped until we finished the songs on our own. It was one of the best National Day celebrations in school we'd all ever had. It was one of the few times the school felt united beyond our years, age or Houses. By the end we didn't care which House won. We just sang and sang and sang. “Memories collected from the School Reunion Contest held from 15 July to 9 Aug 2012 in collaboration with SPH and sponsored by Singapore Flyer.”
