History of Singapore Currency Notes/Coin Every Notes or Coin have a story to tell. The ten photographs of the past of Singapore. The coin had its scene way back to first Singapore change airport this coin were launched to mark the important milestones in the progress of Singapore, such as the official opening of the Change Airport (1981) In 1966, Singapore first National day parade was held at Padang, this note was printed to commemorate the event when Singapore gained its independent in 1965. When Singapore gained its independent there were many progress and development made in this country as u can see the cable car and the HBD flats in the picture. In the rest of the picture u see school band were performing, Dancers of various ethnic groups. We can see the view of PSEA containers. Singapore issued its third series of currency notes in 1984. The series paid tribute to the merchant ships which made Singapore one of the world busiest ports. The Ship series portrayed the various vessels which had been plying the waters of Singapore from historic times till then. It started with the humble trading vessels of the early days and ended with the modern bulk carries. On the back of the notes were scenes showing Singapore's achievements in communication, housing, defence and port management.
