Information About

Four years ago, my mother brought me to the Parklane Mall near the current SOTA (School of The Arts). My mother said that she saw a shop selling comics at that place before so she wanted to bring me there to see if the shop is still around. When I first went to the shopping centre, I thought that there will not be any shops worth me going. There was and still is a lot of LAN shops there. The place felt more like a game heaven than the possible probability of having a comic store. When I went into the mall and saw the comic shop just after turning the corner from MacDonald's, I felt very happy. There is a lot of comics in there and I went inside to browse and look at the comics on sale. These comics are single issues which common bookshops such as Kinokuniya does not sell at that time. I bought some comics on my first visit. As time passes, I continue to visit the shop and is now going there every week to buy comics. The initial few copies have increased a little to average of 5 or 6 per week. Going to the mall I initially thought was rundown and not of interest to me is now a weekly ritual. This proved that we should not ignore any place that we initially feel is uninteresting and should explore the "boring" places of Singapore. I hope that the comic store continue to be there for many years to come. If anyone wants to go, the shop's name is 'Comics World'. (Memory collected at the 'irememberBookstores' campaign)
