Information About

Contributed by: Cassandra Ong Shieh Ling Dear Grandma, I’m very sorry for being rude you lately. I know that I was wrong to argue with you instead of obeying you. I would want to apologize to you sincerely for my actions and I hope that you will forgive me as you always do. Thank you for always forgiving me and being with me whenever I needed help with personal problems. I would like to also thank you for cooking sumptuous meals for my family almost everyday. I wish that I had more talks with you and I wish I had spent more time with you. I had started to talk less to you when I reached the age of eleven. I remembered that when I was young, we used to laugh at jokes that you told me and you would tell me wonderful stories. I really miss your stories and jokes. I hope that after today, we would talk more to each other and share our thoughts. I will be looking forward to hear your hilarious jokes and you wonderful and spirit-lifting stories. I had also heard from my mother that when she was very young, you had to leave her to my great-grandmother to take care of her almost everyday to go to work. I had also heard that you had to do all kinds of jobs to earn money to provide my mother food, shelter and clothes. I would like to thank you for sacrificing and everything that you have done for my mother. Thank You and Happy Grandparents’ Day! Thank You! Happy Grandparents’ Day! (This story was contributed as part of the 'To My Grandpa/Grandma' project initiated by NLB & the Advisory Panel for Seniors. This project is an inter-generation initiative targeted at grandparents and grandchildren. It aims to encourage the sharing of personal experiences, and to use personal stories, narratives and shared heritage to connect the different generations.)
