Sembawang is an area in the northernmost portion of Singapore encompassing the largest land mass within the Sembawang Group Representation Constituency. Despite the relatively large development in the new residential area, Sembawang remains a largely suburban residential area with military, industrial and recreational facilities at it periphery. It has hosted a major naval base and port facilities since the early 20th century and continues to handle regular shipping traffice today.
