1950s. We shared our home with our grandparents and siblings. There was always someone at home to welcome us back from school with love & simple home-cooked meals. No TV or other technology to entertain us, so we had live performances for the whole kampong most weekend nights, like singing or dancing. Food was a bonding factor among the neighbours and we have tolerant of each other's culture & values.
