When my younger son was 5 years old, he came to me one day and told me there was tissue paper in his ear. I couldn't believe but probed further. He explained that he wanted to test out if he could let out a piece of small rolled tissue ball from his ear by jumping since he could put it in. "What goes in can come out" rule. To avoid any inflammation. I took him to SGH & the doctor confirmed there was something inside his ear & took it out. What a lesson he had learnt, through hard way!
