During my scouting time back at my polytechnic studies, we will go Sarimbun Scout campsite for camp and training. Over there i have alot of memories like mud crawl on their famous milo pool, outdoor survival cooking and campfire. I have been there as trainee, trainer and as adult scout (adviser). The most memorable one will be as trainer because you get to plan, facilitate, train and bond the whole camp. So i remembered when i was as program head i need to understand the history of Sarimbun landing. So i went to check on the Wiki and discover that: "The Battle of Sarimbun Beach was the first stage of the Japanese assault on Singapore in February 1942 during World War II. Sarimbun Beach, located in the northwestern corner of mainland Singapore, was the area in which Japanese troops, under the overall direction of Lieutenant-General Tomoyuki Yamashita, first attacked Allied forces (predominantly British) in Singapore." So from the advise from the camp in-charge, i was told to buy some offering to pray along JLN Gemala 3 road for smooth operation for the camp. And that is tradition i pass down to my junior when they are holding camp at Sarimbun.
