(re-submitting this due to PC problem) I have been buy hell notes, joysticks and other paper-made stuff to be burned for the other world from this stall in the West Coast Market Square. The stall owner is Mr. Goh who is in the photo. The stall gets extremely busy during those "big events" like the Ching Ming Festival or the Hungry Ghost month. Although it is not a very environmentally friendly practice, many Chinese Singaporeans, including myself, are doing it as a way to offer to the love ones in the other world. Hopefully, this cultural heritage will be transformed into something for friendly to the environment but, not forgotten.
