With recycling bins located around various locations in the estate, residents are encouraged to make an effort to recycle their items. In HDB estates for instance, recycling has been made easier with the many recycling bins located at the foot of the blocks. In the past I believe that recycling was not a priority and residents were not encouraged to separate their thrash. There would simply be one bin for all items and no effort was made to recycle.
