We first knew what our SYF piece in January- if I'm not wrong. There were some groans and some cheers but honestly, I wasn't sure what to feel- or even say but I knew that to sing this song- something had to change. That was our attitude towards Singapore and how we felt about our country. As a girl, I'd never be able to sweat blood and tears in National Service and might never achieve something big as to make Singapore proud however I realized that by singing this song, I can express my gratitude and love towards Singapore. Through singing this song, I have imagined how Singapore has grown and flourished as the years gone by, how they achieved great heights and became a beautiful and harmonies country and can't help but smile and feel proud as I sing the song.
