Mr Soh is a Chinese married to a Malay. They used to receive lots of disapproval - could not hold hands, could not eat Chinese food, could not go relatives' houses, but they did not care. He was sad when his wife was disowned by her family but he could not do much to make her happy as she missed her family too. They have 2 sons, both currently are public servants and have been blessed with 4 grandchildren. A lot of people has mistaken his wife for a Chinese as she can cpeak Mandarin and Hokkien. After more than 30 years of being estranged, his wife's family has learnt to accept her, but not him. To Mr Soh, there is no difference between Malay or Chinese. Religion is only a form of belief.
