Hwa Chong Institution, formed by the merger of Chinese High School and Hwa Chong junior College, is an independent school offering secondary and pre-university education. The former Chinese High School was founded by Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1919, the first Chinese secondary school in Southeast Asia then.
