I was able to trace my family history a few years ago. My great great father worked as a porter at the then port of Singapore. His wife was a homemaker, he made sure that both his sons were educated. They even studied at Raffles Institution and my father had even received a prize for excelling in mathematics from Mr Lee Kuan Yew then. We used to live at Norma Terrace but have shifted to Jalan Buloh Periudu now my mother, Sataiyadei ensures that tradition is passed down from one generation to another. She is a good cook and is able to cook traditional dishes like Payasam, Puttu thosai. She was also able to cook food from other cultures like rice ball soup and chinese noodles (horfun).
