Mr Ho stayed in a kampung with attap houses in the old Telok Blangah Heights. As Labrador Park was nearby, he used to catch spiders, birds and fish with his friends during his free time. He would also go to a cinema in Pasir Panjang which used to screen shows for 10-cents. He used to poke a hole in the cinema's zinc partition using a sharp object so that he could watch movies for free with his friends. Mr Ho was adopted but his foster parents passed away not long after, so he used to live alone most of the time. Life was a mundane routine of eating, sleeping and working. He used to work in a shipyard and met many different kinds of people. Besides that, he used to have other jobs such as being a pump attendant or worked in hawker centres.
