Before Universal Studios Singapore opened in 2010, Escape Theme Park was the place to go for thrill-seekers and entertainment. Located at, NTUC Downtown east, Pasir Ris, the theme park opened in May 2000. The park consists of thrill rides and family rides such as Go-Karts, Pirate ship, roller coasters, a haunted house and log flume. It has entertained more than four million people since it opened in 2000. Escape Theme Park had ceased operations in 2011 due to multiple complaints, which had lead to a few of the rides getting closed down, and also an accident which had resulted 2 girls being thrown from a roller coaster in 2005. The theme park may have opened for a mere 11 years but it was the first integrated theme park in Singapore and has sparked the flames in every thrill-seekers in Singapore.
