S.U.R.E. Learning Community
Digital Communities
Fight against fake news and scams through monthly educational sessions.
The S.U.R.E. Community aims to build and nurture a learning community that is passionate about safeguarding the community from scams and misinformation.
Based on a partnership between the National Library Board’s S.U.R.E. (Source, Understand, Research, Evaluate) programme and CheckMate, a community-based initiative to combat misinformation and scams, members can learn to become more effective practitioners of information literacy through a regular series of community meetings and workshops. They will also get a chance to put their skills into practice via the CheckMate platform.
With the S.U.R.E. team’s range of info-literacy resources and outreach experience combined with CheckMate’s specialty in crowdsourced information verification, the SURE Learning Community offers enriching and meaningful opportunities for members to directly contribute towards the ever-present fight against misinformation and scams.
