Abstract
Tells the story of a people struggling to preserve their unique art of handmade textiles in the face of modern manufacturing. In episode 1 and 2 of the 6 part series, Gerald Heng shares on the endangered art of the Pashmina and life in Nepal. He came to Nepal in 1998 to work on a project backed by the Nepalese government and the Asian Development Bank to start small enterprises under a micro credit scheme. He stayed after the project to build a business with Pashmina with the women who took a loan under the credit scheme.
