Abstract
Program done in a magazine format that attempts to bring the experience of art to an audience in a media-saturated society. Each episode covers 4 segments. Passage follows the path and development of artistes' struggles and achievements. Art or not challenges viewers to ponder over whether certain popular art forms may truly be known as art or not. State of the art considers events that have or are taking place in Singapore. Gallery features accomplished persons from various art forms commenting on the development of the art form in Singapore and around the world. Passage features Ong Keng Sen as he directs 'The Continuum', a play that tells the story of a real life Cambodian classical dancer during the Pol Pot era. State of art speaks to experts to find out more on the relatively new and little known realm of scriptwriting in Singapore. Next segment questions if we can consider Christmas decorations and designs art or not. In Gallery we unravel the fabric of indigenious Southeast Asian textiles, a symbol of a people's cultural heritage and lifestyle.
