Abstract
A comprehensive catalogue of early Chinese textbooks in Southeast Asia from the 1930s to the 1970s from the World Book Company (now known as Popular Holdings) and its subsidiary companies. Listing more than 400 volumes, the textbooks in this catalogue are arranged by level of study and subject, accompanied by brief introductions that provide an overview of each grade, subject and their respective authors. A textbook list and a summary of the development of Chinese textbooks published in Singapore and Malaysia are also included. To make the information accessible to a wider circle of researchers, English translations are provided for the key sections.
